COMMUNITY SPOTLIGHT

Brotherhood at Lake Arrowhead

This month a group of survivors spent a weekend together at Lake Arrowhead, California, after Dan Wheeler opened his home and organized the whole thing, famous tri-tip included. Some of the men had known each other for years; others were meeting for the first time. There was time on the lake, some friendly competition, and long conversations that moved easily between the hard stuff (treatment, anxiety, what comes next) and the kind of laughter that only happens among people who don't need the long explanation. That is what survivorship looks like when a community works: not a program, but a table full of brothers.

SUPPORTER SPOTLIGHT

Small town, big impact

Every spring in Prophetstown, Illinois, Brenda Workman fills a golf course for her son. Bryce Smith is a testicular cancer survivor, and the tournament Brenda built around his story has now run three years at Prophets Hill Golf Course. This April it raised more than $10,000 for TCF, pushing the three-year total past $30,000. Brenda carries the lion's share of the planning every year, and the money is only part of what she gives us: a small town now talks openly about testicular cancer, and young men there know what to check for. Thank you, Brenda and Bryce.

PARTNER SPOTLIGHT

Thank you, Steve

In July, Steve Gavers and the Gavers Community Cancer Foundation welcomed TCF to their annual Barn Dance in Woodstock, Illinois, and the live auction that night raised more than $30,000 in support of TCF's work. The evening also honored survivor and advocate Marco Pizzoferrato with GCCF's Never Be Defeated Award. Steve's leadership, generosity, and friendship have made GCCF one of TCF's most important partners, and we are grateful to stand alongside a foundation that tells people to know their bodies, get checked, and speak up when something feels wrong.

01  ·  REACH

Meeting people at the moment they search

August was the biggest traffic month in TCF history at 74.6K pageviews, and September is on pace to beat it. Nearly all of that growth is organic: someone types "left testicle pain" or "pea-sized lump on testicle" into Google, and TCF's guide is the first result. On September 12, Google Search Console recorded 50,000 clicks to testicularcancer.org in a single 28-day window. Fifteen months ago that number was 3,500.

Three out of four visitors are on a phone, often searching late at night, which is exactly when credible, plain-language information matters most.

02  ·  AI SEARCH

The most-cited testicular cancer resource in AI

When someone asks ChatGPT, Gemini, or Google's AI Overview about testicular cancer, testicularcancer.org is the source those assistants cite most often, more than the NIH, the American Cancer Society, or the National Cancer Institute. When the question is about finding support after a diagnosis, TCF is named in three out of four answers, and usually named first.

03  ·  GLOBAL REACH

In their own language

TCF's content was translated more than 546,000 times over the past year. Mexico is now our second-largest audience after the United States, with Italy, Germany, India, and France close behind. A man searching for answers in Spanish, Italian, or Hindi now finds the same guides, in his own language, that have made TCF the most-read testicular cancer resource in English.

04  ·  SUPPORT

Support that is there at 2 a.m.

This month we placed TC Navigator, our AI support assistant, at the bottom of every page on the site. Conversations tripled almost overnight, and September is already the busiest month since we launched it, with people writing in from the US, Brazil, India, Poland, and Honduras. Behind it stands the human community: 693 members in our private Discord, two Facebook groups, and the weekly Thursday Zoom call where survivors and caregivers show up for each other.

05  ·  THE COJONE CLUB™ APP

One place for the whole community

Launched in May, The Cojone Club™ App is where TCF's programs now live together. Much of it is open to anyone, no account needed:

  • Get Support: a simple front door for survivors, caregivers, and anyone helping a loved one

  • Ask the Club: browse real questions answered by survivors, or submit your own

  • Survivor Stories: read stories from men who have been there

  • Free resources: request a copy of If These Balls Could Talk, order free self-exam shower cards, or sign up for monthly self-exam text reminders

  • TCF Summit: register, apply for a scholarship, or become a sponsor

Members who sign in (Apple, Google, Discord, or email) unlock the community feed, a member directory and map, weekly support calls, events, TC Navigator, a members-only resource library, and a Get Involved page that awards points and badges for actions like completing a monthly self-exam, joining the Discord, attending Summit, launching a fundraiser, or referring a corporate partner.

NEW  ·  THE TCF STORE

Our store has a new home

The TCF Store moved to shop.testicularcancer.org this month. Shower cards, STRESSTICLES, wristbands, apparel, and If These Balls Could Talk are all there, with faster checkout and shipping. Every purchase supports the mission, and gear is the easiest way to start a conversation that could save someone's life.

FOR COMPANIES  ·  PARTNER WITH TCF

Let's put men's health on the map, together

We reach young men at the exact moment they need us most: 15 to 35 years old, searching for answers about a symptom, often at night and alone. For a brand, an event, a healthcare company, or a fellow nonprofit, that is a rare kind of audience. Our new partner portal makes it simple to start a conversation about brand partnerships, event sponsorship, content collaboration, corporate giving, or a custom idea. If your company, or one you know, should be part of this, send them our way.

06  ·  YOUR GIVING AT WORK

$135,923 raised so far in 2026

That puts us at 68% of our $200K goal with the fall and year-end giving season still ahead. Two things stand out. Our monthly giving program has grown to 12 active donors with zero cancellations, the first sustained recurring program in TCF's history. And a new channel, cryptocurrency giving through Donate.gg, has already brought in $25,825 from 255 donors, many of whom had never heard of TCF before.

HELP US CLOSE THE GAP

$64,077 to go before December 31. A monthly gift of $25 keeps a survivor connected to peer support all year. A one-time gift of $100 ships free self-exam cards to 400 young men.

“It’s impacted me greatly to know I’m not alone and that I don’t have to go through this alone. I made friendships where I know I can pick up the phone or send a text anytime I need someone. I never had that before.”

THREE WAYS TO GET INVOLVED RIGHT NOW

01  Become a monthly supporter. Twelve people currently power TCF every month. A $25 recurring gift is the most reliable funding we have, and it takes two minutes to set up. Start a monthly gift →

02  Launch a fundraiser or refer a corporate partner. Birthday, race, golf outing, or an introduction to a company that should know TCF: both earn a badge on the Get Involved page and both move the mission. Open Get Involved →  ·  Partner portal →

03  Put shower cards where young men will see them. Free self-exam cards ship anywhere in the US. Gyms, locker rooms, dorms, clinics, and break rooms are the best spots. Request free cards →

None of this happens without you. Thank you for standing with the testicular cancer community this year. We hope to see you in Las Vegas in April.

With gratitude,
The TCF Team
